The Giants have acquired right-hander Mike Leake from the Reds for minor league infielder Adam Duvall and starting pitcher Keury Mella, who has been pitching for the Class-A San Jose Giants.

Leake threw eight innings of four-hit ball in a 4-0 win over the Cardinals Tuesday night in in his final start for the Reds. He's 9-5 with a 3.56 ERA in 21 starts.

The New York Yankees have acquired infielder Dustin Ackley from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for outfield prospect Ramon Flores and right-hander Jose Ramirez.

Ackley, 27, was the No. 2 overall pick back in 2009 -- one spot after Stephen Strasburg.

The trade that will send Cole Hamels to the Texas Rangers involves eight players and a significant amount of cash with six players headed to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Texas will receive Hamels, reliever Jake Diekman and $9.5 million in exchange for Matt Harrison, pitching prospects Jake Thompson, Alec Asher and Jared Eickhoff, catching prospect Jorge Alfaro and outfield prospect Nick Williams.

Hamels is signed through 2018 and is guaranteed $82.1 million, plus a club/vesting option in 2019.

Philadelphia will be responsible for all $32 million of what is owed to Harrison through 2017.

The Los Angeles Angels acquired a pair of outfielders in David Murphy and David DeJesus on Tuesday afternoon.

Los Angeles acquired DeJesus from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for right-hander Eduar Lopez just minutes after it was reported that the Cleveland Indians sent Murphy to the Angels for infielder Eric Stamets.

The Angels have now acquired three outfielders, including Shane Victorino from the Boston Red Sox on Monday, this week.

The Boston Red Sox have traded Shane Victorino to the Los Angeles Angels for Josh Rutledge.

Boston will pay $3.8 million of the $4.9 million remaining on Victorino's contract, according to a Major League source.

The Royals acquired Johnny Cueto in a trade with Reds on Sunday, sending three prospects to the Reds for a ace for the front of their rotation.

The Royals also received cash considerations in the deal, which saw Kansas City send left-handers Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb and Cody Reed to Cincinnati.

The Mets finalized a deal with the Braves on Friday night to acquire third baseman Juan Uribe and lefty-hitting utility player Kelly Johnson, according to an ESPN.com report.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired reliever Steve Cishek from the Miami Marlins.

St. Louis sent Double-A pitcher Kyle Barraclough to the Miami for the right-hander.

Cishek is 2-6 with three saves and a 4.50 ERA this year. The 29-year-old struggled and was sent down to Double-A earlier this season, but had an 0.71 ERA in 13 games since returning to Miami in mid-June.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired Aramis Ramirez from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for minor league right-hander Yhonathan Barrios and cash considerations.

Pittsburgh will reportedly pay $3 million of the $5.74 million that remains on Ramirez's $14 million salary.

The Houston Astros have acquired Scott Kazmir from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for Jacob Nottingham and Daniel Mengden.

Kazmir, who is scheduled to become a free agent after the season, was supposed to start for the Athletics on Thursday.

"Scott Kazmir is one of the best pitchers in the American League and strengthens our rotation," Jeff Luhnow said in a release. "His addition gives the Astros a better chance of reaching and succeeding in the postseason. It has been a while since the Astros have been relevant late in the summer and winning now is a priority."

Nottingham, 20 is a catcher. He was a sixth-round pick by the Astros out of Redlands, Cal., High School in the 2013 MLB first-year player draft. In 168 professional games, he's a .280 hitter with an .816 OPS.

Mengden, a 22 right-hander, was drafted in the fourth round by Houston out of Texas A&M in 2014. He has 101 strikeouts in 99 1/3 professional innings pitched.
